IAT 410: Personal Progress Week 9
For my contribution this week for our IAT 410 game, I was in charge of creating the level design documents with another teammate and answering all the questions regarding the rationale behind our level creation since I was in charge of conceptualizing the levels and what the different components are within each section. Afterwards I was asked to dissect the different playtest that we organized to get feedback.
For the level design document, I discussed with a teammate what was the type of pacing we have for our level and how the levels should be organized to be balanced. So right now for our level, in our ramp we indicate many opportunities for players to feel engaged and gradually feel more tense as the level progresses due to difficulty of environment and enemies getting more difficult. For our playtest, many of the issues were regarding visual feedback and speed of combat, so I wrote many of the concerns regarding our game and what areas we should fix for the following weak in order to progress further as we create the beta version of our game.
Next week, my contribution for the project will be to focus on working on the concept art for our cutscenes in our game to help set the tone for our game and understand see how engaged our players will be in regards to the narrative of the story. I will first try and conceptualize and sketch out the one part of the narrative in order to see if players are receptive to the art or will it require major changes due to issues regarding the connection between the art style of the actual game and concept art.
